Writing updates:

The King’s Gate (book 3 of the trilogy) has gone to Beta Readers. I’m so excited to hear back from them! There is still some work to be done but I’m pretty happy with the final product. The King’s Gate is scheduling for release on September 9, 2019. Now all that is left is to schedule the cover reveal!

Unfathomable Plan has been placed on Hiatus while I work on Zendar 2. I needed a break to work out a particularly difficult scene. I have a few ideas.

Zendar: A Tale of Wind and Sand is progressing beautifully. I hope to be done writing in the next few months and then I can share Bella’s romantic story! Thanks to a start on NaNoWriMo I was able to get a fantastic head start! I’m already 25,000 words in and show now signs of slowing!

I’ve made some progress on Truthseer but it is slow going. It’s is really eye opening

Anthologies:

Crazy Ink Anthologies has scheduled The Curse for release on November 3, 2019. Woot!

The Epic Fantasy anthology story was cancelled so I’ll start looking for another group for A Ghostly Gate. I’m totally behind writing this but I’ve gotten around the hard part and starting the easier part that I already had a clear picture of. Should hopefully wrap it up this month.

I had a last minute request for a short story Christmas romance for Stained Glass Publishing’s Holiday Chords. It is very cute! Also Pandemonium was published in World’s Apart, make sure to check them both out! (Links above.)

Escape  Book:

Conjured Kingdoms is done! I’ve turned it in for reading by the client. I hope to hear something back soon! It’s a cute and sweet YA/middle school story. It is fun for all ages! It will cover the story leading up to the ‘creation’ of the escape room. I can’t wait!

Here is the summary:

Has life ever been so unbearable that you wish to be anywhere else? That is what Bennie was imagining with all her heart; to be far away from her unhappy relatives and cruel school mates. One day her belief in other realms where she could be happy was so strong that she conjured a door to a different world. Places of wonder and bursting with magic—real magic! Unwilling to return Bennie jumps from world to world, making friends, and finding mystical objects. That is until one day she opens the wrong door.

Reading Goal:

It is my goal was to read 50 books. I’ve completed them and finished the 55 books read! I’ve kept the goal at 50 for 2019 but I’ll talk more about that.

Happy reading!

NaNoWriMo – Day 11

That’s right 30% of the way through National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and had my best day yet! I’ve written 3,903 words yesterday, bringing my total word count to just over 11,000. Which means I’m just a little behind the curve ball but yesterday sure helped close the gap.

My goal this year is 25,000 words. Anyone going for for the win?

I’ve been diligently writing away on Zendar: A Tale of Wind and Blood, book two in the Zendar Collection. Bella’s story is starting to take on a life of its own and the story is just starting to heat up.

However, I was distracted by a short story anthology I’m writing for a friend. To help with her Christmas Romance anthology. It is a cute little romance about second chances and forgiveness. I’ll hopefully finish it up shortly and then get back into Zendar 2.

Do comment if you are participating in NaNoWriMo this year! I’d love to hear what word count you are on. My user name is K.T. Munson if you are so inclined to add me!

As always, happy writing!

Writing updates:

Now I’m over 40,000 words into Unfathomable Plan but I’ve been very busy getting the Unfathomable Chance audiobook done and The Nowhere Gate published. I’ve been busy! I’m going to have to focus on the last book in my trilogy which I’m tentatively scheduling for September 9, 2019.

Locally I’m also working on a project for a local escape room. They needed a writer to flesh out story ideas and, well, write. So I’ve been busy working on that and an accompanying short story. More to come on this, but I’m very excited. For those of you who don’t know what an escape room is, you should look into them. I’ve done quite a few at this point and I love them.

How is everyone else’s writing projects going?

Anthologies:

A lot has happened. The romance short story anthology (10K-13K) fell through and was turned into a serial romance series. When that happened the story was already written so I’ve had to find a different anthology. As luck would have it one of the participants recommended Crazy Ink Anthologies and they had an Anthology that fit the bill! The Curse. Woot! It is now scheduled for next year but I’ve already submitted it for review.

The Epic Fantasy anthology story is over half done. It has been fun and so far I have a working title – A Ghostly Gate. Just need to buckle down and finish it. I have two months before I have to worry that I won’t submit on time, but I know I can do it!

Audiobook:

Audiobook is published and now I wait to see if I want to do a second one. It is an interesting concept and I think it has lots of value, I’ll see how it goes. For those of you who are interested, it was done through ACX.

Reading Goal:

It is my goal to read 50 books. So far I’ve completed 34 reviews and have finished two more books but haven’t written the reviews. So technically I have 14 to go, but have the next 6 books lined up. I’m going to blow the goal out of the water.

Happy reading!

Writing updates:

Now I’m over 30,000 words into Unfathomable Plan but I’m loosing steam and getting distracted. Thankfully I got the audiobook done but between editing of the last book in The Gate Trilogy and writing a short story for an anthology (finished and edited!)…I’ve been busy! To complicate matters more I finished the outline for Zendar 2 and write the first chapter. So I’m going to let the writing muse push me towards Zendar 2 and try to finish at least one of them this year.

How is everyone else’s writing projects going?

Anthologies:

I’ve entered a romance short story anthology (10K-13K). Woot! I’ve also just entered and was accepted into an epic fantasy anthology. I cannot wait! The romance should be published later this year – the

Audiobook:

My voice for Diana is finishing up in the next week and then I’ll have the final copy. I should have an announcement out in the next few weeks on when it will be available. I cannot believe I’m less than 30 days from releasing my first audiobook!

Reading Goal:

It is my goal to read 50 books. So far I’ve completed 15 and about to finish book 16. Great start to the year!

Happy reading!

Thanks to NaNoWriMo I’m over 20,000 words into Unfathomable Plan. I’m getting distracted, however, by the audiobook and editing of the last book in The Gate Trilogy. That being said my goal is to write a minimum of 2,000 words a week so I finish writing in April when my audiobook comes out. I’m hoping to publish Unfathomable Plan in early 2020.

Audiobook:

I’ve found a voice for Diana and have booked her to start reading in January. Just making a few adjustments to the book and then I’ll be sending it out! I hope she’ll finish by end of February and I’ll publish it early 2018 (no later than May 31).

Reading Goal:

It is my goal to read 50 books. So far I’m one book down and already almost through my second. Being only a week in and I think that’s a great start!

Happy reading!

Writing updates:

I’ve published The Sixth Gate and already have 3 reviews on Amazon! Make sure to check it out.

Temporum: The Four Seasons is a YA Fantasy. Eva is a 17 year old heroine who falls through a mirror and ends up where the word is divided into four courts based on the seasons. I finalized the outline and just hit 10,000 words! This one is really coming together!

I’ve really thrown myself back into Seven Eves and making progress on that but I am getting sidetracked by summer and Temporum!

Audiobook:

Make sure to vote on the below poll! I’m taking multiple polls from different areas and will be tabulating them all through the next month. I’ll make a decision early September!

Reading Goal:

It is my goal to read 45 books. I am very excited to already be 33 books in. I’m now months ahead of schedule! I’ll have to make it harder next year for sure.

Happy reading!

Writing Update and Mailing Lists

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I started off with a terrible head cold that laid me up for days. I sincerely hope most of you started off 2017 better. On that note here are all the updates for what I plan to do in the new year.

Goals for my writing/the year:

  1. Building Mailing List – I’d like to get a mailing list so when I have giveaways and such, I can let everyone who is interested know.
  2. Finish Writing The Gate Trilogy (I expect this to happen within the next month)
    1. Get all 3 covers done for The Gate Trilogy, reveal the first one.
    2. Publish The Sixth Gate on July 7, 2017
    3. Finish editing all 3 books – get ready for Beta readers.
  3. Choose which book to have done for Audio Book
    1. Find a ‘voice’ for the audio book and pick a date for release next spring (2018).
    2. Send a poll in the fall for which book through Mailing List
  4. Start writing next book. Decide between 1001 Islands #2, Unfathomable Chance #2, or the new YA Fantasy novel – Temporum: The Four Seasons.
  5. Work on Seven Eves – Alaskan Supernatural Crime Novel
  6. Edit and get to Beta Readers An Honest Misunderstanding and consider publishing (maybe just on Wattpad).
  7. Breathe new life into my Historical Mystery Novella. Finish writing ‘The Red Door’ – SO MUCH REWRITING/EDITING!
  8. Editing/rewrite Truthseer
  9. Participate in NaNoWriMo
  10. Keep up momentum on writing events, speaking events, and conventions.
  11. Read 45 books.

Mailing Lists:

I have created two mailing lists. One for Romance readers and another for Fantasy/Sci-fi readers. I’m hoping to send out discounts, deals, giveaways, sample chapters, and cover reveals of all my books. Not to mention upcoming releases and my decision on which books will first go to audio (that’s right!). I’m preparing for a giveaway shortly, make sure you get on the list!

Writing Plans:

I am painfully close to finishing the last book in The Gate Trilogy. Book 1 releases on July 7, 2017. I had the artist who said they were going to do it bail so I need to find a new artist, I may have a line on one of them to do all 3 covers. I’ll get everything ready for publication over the next 5 years.

After completion of The Gate Trilogy I’ll be ready to start on my next project. There are three items that are at the forefront of that race. In no particular order these are my possible next writing projects:

  • 1001 Islands #2
  • Unfathomable Chance #2
  • Temporum: The Four Seasons A new project that I want to do for my good friend Nicky. It is a YA Fantasy that is contemporary and involves the main character ‘falling’ into another world.
  • Another project that I’m working on as well is Seven Eves. An Alaskan Supernatural Crime Novel. This may move to the forefront of my attention until I can make a decision on what of the above projects to take on first.

I also have a few projects I’d like to revive. Namely Truthseer (a book I wrote for my sister but needs to be fixed/worked on before future publication) and The Red Door (a historical mystery novel set in New York City, 1899). I finished rewriting/editing An Honest Misunderstanding some time ago, but I’ve decided to look at publishing. Either to eBook or on Wattpad…or maybe both!

Audiobook:

I’ve decided that one of my published books is going to go to Audiobook. I have to decide on just one and I’m very torn. I’ll be sending out a poll to help decide so I’m hoping everyone will sign up to the mailing list and help me make a decision Fall 2017.

Local Events:

Happy to announce that I’ll have other writing events around town and in the Southcoast area in Alaska. I’m very excited about all these events. SenshiCon was amazing last year and I hope to meet as many amazing  people this year as I did last year! My first one is next weekend which is Yuki Fest – here is their Facebook Page.

Reading Goal:

It is my goal to read 45 books. Goodreads Reading Challenge is all set up and tracking me. Apparently I’m 1 book ahead of schedule – yay! I want at least 50% of these to be indie authors so make sure to check out my submission/review policy page if you’d like me to consider reading/reviewing your book.
